Devil's Den Spring

Devil's Den Spring
This summer I'd put myself to a challenge,
I've been trying to camp & hike as much as I can all summer long.
 After so much planning and dedication,
this past weekend I finally visited Devil's Den for the first time.
 It all started with a simple planning for just a weekend,
a friend of mine invited me,
I just came tagging along.
I've known Devil's Den for a quite a while now,
and it thrilling-deep cave which is a top attraction here in Florida.
From waking up early in the morning to beat traffic on a Saturday weekend,
it'll take you a good 4-5 hour drive.
Unfortunately, when we got there the Den was closed
due to maximum capacity, yes it gets pretty full on the summer;
they told us to come back Sunday early morning
for a good chance to visit and swim the cave.
They don't required a reservation at Devil's Den
tent sites are first come, first served
but you must always check-in at their main office.
We picked a great ground spot,
but as soon as we started unpacking
a rainy afternoon surprised us while setting camp.
Honestly, we took the best out of it
set up camp while enjoying the rain.
When camping you always want to be prepared of food supplies,
Beers, burgers, hot dogs, you name it,
we were pretty packed on food for the weekend,
and I believe we cooked it all!
Even though, Devil's Den didn't have much to offer us
(no hikes, no trails, no other activities, etc.)
it is always nice and pleasant to just camp for the weekend
without any problems or concerns.
This past weekend felt more like a pre-camping experience
as I will be heading this coming weekend to Colorado;
I will be hiking one more time Mt. Elbert,
a tough and great challenge to complete.
As soon as I am back will post about Mt. Elbert.
Expect me back next week,
and wish me luck!
