Cold Weekend at Ginnie Springs
You know what they say, you like one place you go back to it again.
You know what they say, you like one place you go back to it again.
Many of you know after my recent hike of the Florida Trail,
I decided to take a weekend off from hiking
and just enjoy a nice chill camping weekend.
I had visited Ginnie Springs twice last year
and quite enjoyed enough to say it's my favorite national park in Florida.
This time around, my friends convinced me that I needed some time off
and that it was time to head to Ginnie Springs.
I can never be mad about going back to a place I fell in love with,
even though if it was a place I visited 4-5 months ago.
Driving to Ginnie Springs is always a hustle,
every time I drive up there I keep thinking
the drive is never coming to an end.
This past weekend there was a cold front coming from the north of Florida,
and on top of that we were supposed to expect a lot of rain as well.
When we arrived to Ginnie Springs, it was pretty cloudy
and cold at the same time, we knew we didn't have a chance to
do all the activities throughout the weekend with this kind of weather.
I noticed Ginnie Springs was kind of empty,
even though this past weekend was St. Patrick's day.
It seems to be because of the cold weather people were not
camping at Ginnie, also the fact that this is not the best time
of the year to camp up North compared to the summer season.
This time, we only decided to hit the spring knowing the water was extremely cold,
and if it wasn't for our Intex inflatable raft we wouldn't have had the same experience.
Around noon, we got back to the campground and started getting ready for the night,
temperature started decreasing to the low 50s, which it was pretty cool for the entire night,
we spent the rest of our night listening to music, eating marshmallows, and telling stories.
Overall, I always have a great time camping at Ginnie Springs,
and with the cold weather I even enjoyed it more than I expected.
Make sure to check out all the content and
the great moments I snapped with my camera.
This weekend I will heading back to my Florida Trail hike,
will keep you guys posted with another blog soon.
Take care for now!
