New Years Weekend At St. Petersburg
/ Madeira Beach KOA Holiday
Hello everyone.
Welcome back to the first blog of the new year 2022.
First of all just wanted to wish you guys a great start of the new year,
and I hope you all had an amazing time during your celebration of New Years.
I'm here to talk to guys about our first trip and vacation of 2022.
A well spent weekend of glamping and outdoors vibes at St. Petersburg / Madeira Beach Koa.
Let's take back to a few days before New Years!
My girlfriend and I were talking for the past couple of days and
planning to see where we would spend our New Years celebration.
Unfortunately, all of our families had made plans already for all us
and to spend at least a few hours with each other.
For some reason, I felt like this year I wanted to try something knew
instead of going that family party or somebody's after party.
Another thing that came to my mind was that I wanted to spend it with Max and my girl.
As you may know, most dogs are always afraid of fireworks and I have always felt bad for Max.
So it occurred me to either go camping or to book something away from the city.
After two nights straight browsing and searching for places,
everything seemed booked and too late to come up with something,
all of the sudden I get this advertising on cabins and camping at the KOA website.
Again, no luck with any of the closes campsites and reservations seemed to be completely full.
Before I logged off from my computer I had decided to give it one last chance
and believe it or not I was able to caught a reservation on St. Petersburg KOA location.
I've got really lucky after searching without stopping and
booking it at 12:40AM that midnight also helped.
Right there and then I booked a Campsite Cabin.
Immediately, I woke Lizi up and told her right there that we were heading to St. Petersburg.
The fun fact about all of this is that I have heard from KOA as a great resort and campsite location
but never actually bother checking it our or staying at one of their campsites,
so this was really surprising and exciting at the same time for us.
In the next couple of days prior New Years we prepared and
packed our stuff and we were ready for a roadtrip!
After a few hours on the road we arrive to our location around 5PM,
before we had to get some food and necessary items at a local Walmart
for our campsite since we didn't get a chance to buy them before.
Quickly we unloaded and unpacked everything to get ready to
celebrate New Years & the our entire weekend at KOA!
KOA campgrounds offer many amenities such as rental bikes, kayaks,
miniature golf, volleyball, pool & spa, and many other activities.
Unfortunately, we were not able to do all the activities here, however,
we got to experienced the amazing cabin and gorgeous campsite.
When it comes to lodging KOA has many campsites with cabins,
our camping cabin had 2 rooms and up to 6 people to sleep,
including a 2 bed-bunk, 1 full bed but not kitchen or bathroom available,
but if you feel bad about it they do provide showers with great hot water close your campsite.
It is definitely a great campsite for families or small groups on this cabin.
If that is no the case and you want a better accommodation you can always
move up to to their Deluxe Cabin which comes with a full bath and showers!
One thing I forgot to mention is all of these cabins and KOA campgrounds are pet friendly,
you would only need to pay their pet fee which it is
affordable and your pet can be part of the reservation.
Since it was only us three we decided to opt out for their personal camping
cabin which it is pretty small, comfortable and really cozy for us.
We spent the rest of the weekend doing some BBQ,
drinking local beer and enjoying the outdoors.
We definitely loved our stay at St. Petersburg and we wouldn't think twice about coming back.
Now that we have gotten to really know KOA campgrounds,
we would like to visit and explore other locations around Florida and maybe on other states.
This is something that we have as our main goal for this new year of 2022!

I know we loved doing this trip and to try something completely different this year,
which came out to be a perfect getaway weekend of this 2020 New Years celebration!
