Florida Wildlife Corridor
Hello everyone.
It's been a long time since my last blog post back in May.
Let's just say I'm doing pretty well and enjoying as much as I can of summer.
As of right now, I have had any summer activities and we haven't
been back to the Florida Trail or done any outdoor adventures.
However, since hiking summer season is here I have had the chance to
partnered up with #LiveWildlyFL to promote their Florida Wildlife Corridor.
If you guys didn't know the Florida Wildlife Corridor stretches from the Panhandle
to the Everglades with a 18 million acres that expands the entire state of Florida.
Currently, the Florida Wildlife Corridor is only protected for about a 54%
which the rest will remain up to us to protect and conserved this beautiful wildlife.
I came around this great campaign one day browsing through my Instagram account,
until I started getting more familiar with Live Wildly's mission and movement.
I felt like I really wanted to be a part of it on this campaign so I immediately applied for it.
The great thing about this campaign is Live Wildly FL gives you the right to choose
and explore by doing several activities: hiking, kayaking, fishing,
horseback riding, swimming, cycling, hunting, camping, etc.
As part of this campaign I chose to go visit Jonathan Dickinson State Park,
and go for the a day hike activity at the State Park.
Honestly, it feels so long since the last time I visited Jonathan Dickinson,
but on the fun note this was my first state park I had visited when I started going camping.
This state park has a really good place in my heart so it only made sense to come back to it.
We explored the Kitching Creek Trail that included several foot bridges
and an awesome view at the pine trees on the trail.
We brought our dog Max on the trail and he was absolutely loving it,
however, it was such a hot and sunny day we couldn't complete the whole trail
and decided to turn back to the parking lot as it was too hot and humid.
Then we went to see the Loxahatchee River just by the pier and it looked amazing!
The Loxahatchee River is a pretty wide river and extends up to 7-miles,
and one of the scenic rivers in the state of Florida.
I will definitely love to paddle down this river with my kayak
but that would be for my next visit to Jonathan Dickinson.
Lastly, we visited the concession/visitor center to buy any gifts and souvenirs
representing the state park which we always do as part of our visits.
I completely enjoyed visiting Jonathan Dickinson State Park and
coming back to one of my favorite parks out here in Florida.
Therefore, I would like to invite all my readers to go join the movement at
Live Wildly FL and check out the list of of places to explore.
Show your wild side and support the Florida Wildlife Corridor.
