Labor Day Hiking Trip - Day 3: Camping At Smoky Mountain Meadows Campground
(Tennessee / North Carolina / Georgia)
Hello friends.
Happy to be back with another blog post of this Labor Day Hiking Trip series.
After spending most of the afternoon in North Shoal Falls and driving around Murphy, North Carolina,
we set out to look for a campground that was close to our next destination.
Since we had been driving for a couple of hours we didn't even realize we were on the north
side of North Carolina and close to the Smoky Mountains and Tennessee border,
so we came across Smoky Mountain Meadows Campground and gave it a try.
Since it was only 1-hour away from our location we had the time to go the nearest
supermarket to re-stack on food, beer, wood, and other camping supplies.
Smoky Mountain Meadows Campground is a pretty friendly and beautiful campground,
the staff is super professional and courteous, they provided us with a quiet campsite away
from the rest of the campsites and back in the mowed field which was pretty cozy.
One thing I did notice is there's plenty of space to fit hundred of tents on this campground,
when we camped that night there were several families with tents on the other side of the field,
also they have a station for motor homes and vans as well which are pretty cool.
Cabins and lodges were available for rent as well although I would recommend to
book in advanced in case they run out pretty quickly which most of the time they do.
For the night we cooked some burgers with hot dogs which it is usually our specialty
whenever we go camping and we bought some local beers something
I always do in order to support local breweries and to try a new beer.
We enjoyed our camping stay here at Smoky Meadows Campground,
I would recommend staying at this campground if you want the full camping
experience and you are also close to the Smoky Mountain in case you want to visit.
This is the end for this blog post guys make sure to plan ahead and visit this campground.
See you soon on the next blog!
