Labor Day Hiking Trip - Day 5:
Stone Mountain
(Tennessee / North Carolina / Georgia)
Hello travelers.
We are back with another short and final blog for this Labor Day Hiking Trip.
It has come to an end for this hiking trip and what a better way to end it by visiting Stone Mountain.
On the same afternoon we visited Carrigan Farms we went straight to Stone
Mountain for our last hiking destination before we set course home.
Since I have visited Stone Mountain last year and completed the hike to the top of the
mountain I knew how it would feel and how cool would be it to be back for a second time.
We arrive late afternoon as my last time here so we gear up right away to make it up top before sunset.
We started hiking the Walk-Up trail and all of the sudden I felt how tired I was
from the steep trail that I had to stopped for a while and catch my breath.
For a moment there I thought about quitting and not keep going on with this hike,
however, since I wasn't alone it didn't feel right quitting at the time.
We kept on going for a few more minutes until we reached one of my favorite spots of the
hike where you can take lots of pictures and sightsee the entire Stone Mountain Park.
After some time we made it up to the top a second time for me and first time for my other friends.
We were so excited and happy to be at the top of world again,
this is literally what it feels to hike to the top of Stone Mountain.
Before heading down, I took a few minutes to rest at one of the big rocks and to get some sun,
just enjoying myself up here while these people taking pictures of the top of the mountain.
As always it is an incredible and amazing panoramic view you'll get while being at the top,
I will never forget my two times hiking Stone Mountain and I'm sure I'll be back for another round.
This was a great hiking trip all around and after several days out there it was time to head home.
