Birthday Weekend At New Orleans
Hello my fellow travelers!
I'm back home after spending a whole week in Costa Rica and I couldn't be happier to be home.
In case you guys didn't know my friend Hector didn't come back with me on the airplane,
he actually stayed another extra day in Costa Rica at my dad's house as he was going to
continue his solo hiking expedition to Panama! Yes, believe it or not!
Hector told me last minute when we hit the bar the night before I was leaving Costa Rica,
and since I had only asked for a week of vacation I was not able accompany him to Panama.
While I was bit bummed out about not going with him on this hiking expedition
I wished him the best on this incredible adventure that he went to had.
Anyways, back home my birthday was coming up on the 22th and even though
I had great time in Costa Rica I felt like I wanted to do something out of ordinary.
While looking at Google Maps and searching for flight tickets to
head somewhere I came around New Orleans, Louisiana.
After a few hours of research I found a really good deal on a hotel in the middle of French Quarter
and next thing you know I was packing for a birthday weekend getaway at New Orleans.
Since I decided not to flight this time, I went ahead on a 14-hour road trip to New Orleans.
I arrived at New Orleans on a beautiful Saturday morning and I was ready to explore.
Checked in at Le Pavillon Hotel and I was floored with the great accommodation on this hotel.
On my first day in NOLA I just wanted to stroll around and getting to know the places in New
Orleans so I visited the great French-Quarter and Bourbon Street I instantly fell in love with it.
On my itinerary list I had places such as Pat O'Brien's Bar, Krazy Korner 640, Cafe Beignet,
Tropical Isle's Bayou Club, and many more which I ended up visiting during the day.
On the second day I woke up pretty early even though I had rough night of drinking,
I went to visit the amazing Washing Artillery Park with gives you a great lookout at
Mississippi River, never thought I would be able to see the Mississippi River up this close.
Enjoyed some live-music from the Krazy Korner 640 which was a total blast,
I got surprised with syringes shots which blew me off right away lol!
One thing to know for sure is that if you ever visiting New Orleans its a must to
try Hand Grenades drink you can get these at Tropical Isle's Bayou Club.
On my last night I just went back into the French-Quarter looking for a quiet time to have dinner,
and to enjoy some live-jazz music, however, knowing New Orleans is never quiet in here.
I opted out for some pizza place and was strolling around while I ate to not waste any time.
At night the city is very vibrant and active on every corner, the city itself lifts up to the
party lifestyle and it shows you how beautiful and magnificent this city can be at night.
Although I only stayed for a good 3-day I didn't have the chance to do any outdoor
activities in the outer places of New Orleans which was a downer for me.
New Orleans is definitely unique and I wouldn't think twice about coming back here, next time
I would love to come with all my friends so we can enjoy a good bar-hopping and party hard!
Definitely recommend visiting New Orleans for a long weekend and enjoying
all their local restaurants, bars and tours around the French-Quarter.
Check out all these photos and tips on how to get around the city and
I'll see you guys on the next post.
