Chasing Waterfalls - Day 3: Catarata Del Toro
(Costa Rica Hiking Expedition)
Hello my fellow friends.
Here I am with another blog post!
Following up with this post for our Day 3 at Costa Rica.
After having discovered two great waterfalls in Costa Rica,
we wanted to challenge ourselves and headed for what it’s considered the
greatest waterfall in Costa Rica, and let me tell you it did not disappoint!
We have heard this waterfall was the most stunning one there was in Costa Rica,
and since this was our third day in the country, and from everything that we have already
seen and experienced, we thought this one was the one that will do it for us.
seen and experienced, we thought this one was the one that will do it for us.
The trail down to the waterfall offers different points of view of the waterfall,
which makes this hike a very unique and great way to experience Catarata Del Toro.
As you hike down to the waterfall, you can see how the water plunges down cliffs with
such vivid colors, making it one of the most beautiful views of this waterfall.
Once we started getting closer, we started noticing there were these huge pile
of rocks within the trail to the main zone of the waterfall that seemed to gorgeous to miss,
and I couldn't help myself to stop for a couple of minutes and take some shots from this
section of the trail, which after all it seemed out of this world.
Once we arrived to main site of the waterfall, it was just pure excitement,
it looked so freaking huge in front of us, as you can see on the pictures above,
the water looks so majestic and beautiful coming down on the rocks,
I just couldn't figure out how places like these exist in our planet.
Compared to the other waterfalls, this one had a couple of barriers and fences around the
rocks in other for any visitors or hikers to not trespass and swim on the waterfall.
rocks in other for any visitors or hikers to not trespass and swim on the waterfall.
Unfortunately, the main reason why they have these fences is because the current
is too strong, and they are trying to avoid any fatalities on this waterfall zone.
So basically the name behind of Bajos Del Toro which means low bull in English
is because the massive waterfall can be looked at facing down like a charging bull,
kind of crazy right? Well, this waterfall exist and I couldn't have more
lucky to have experience this place in first hand.
We definitely enjoyed the vivid colors and amazing view of this waterfall,
Catarata Del Toro is a truly hidden gem, no doubt about it.
After spending a couple of hours here, it was time to head back up
on the trail and visit the rest of the trail that this resort offered.
After a good 30-40 minutes of hiking back up the trail and staircase,
we encountered this tropical botanical garden on our way out of the resort,
a beautiful garden with a different set of flowers and a great outdoor area
to spend the time relaxing and to enjoy the beauty of it all.
Seriously, we felt trapped in this entire place of how much green, and beauty there
was around us, it almost felt like nature itself was calling our names out here,
like we were meant to experience and live these moments,
and I so glad we did, an unique and incredible experience!
Well guys that's for today, I've been pretty busy the past couple of weeks,
still holding up to some more editing and post to upload,
might have another blog post ready in the next couple of days,
if not check back next week and it'll be definitely ready.
Really hope you have enjoyed this one and don't forget to follow up
on the rest of my content and this great series of my Costa Rica Expedition.
Will see you on the next post!
