Three States Hiking - Day 3:
Honeycomb Campground
(Alabama / Georgia / South Carolina)
Hello my fellow hikers!
I'm back with another short blog of the Three States Hiking trip series.
After I was done exploring DeSoto Falls and Noccalula Falls that same afternoon
it was time to call it a day and head to my designated campground Honeycomb Campground.
Honeycomb Campground is located on the Lake Guntersville in Grant, Alabama,
it is considered to be a popular campground and area for many hikers and locals.
Honeycomb offers a total of 140 campsites both short-term and long-term with water and electricity;
37 campsites with waterfront, 16 non-waterfront, 4 sites primitive, and the rest are long-term sites.
They offer plenty of amenities such as: swim beach, boat rentals, private bath houses,
general souvenir store, piers, cabins, picnic areas, among others amenities.
Luckily for me I had already booked a campsite with waterfront view which was a big incentive for me,
I really wanted to sleep in front of the lake and wake up to a beautiful view in the morning.
Since I was camping in the middle of November it was really fresh and chill at night in Alabama,
almost like the perfect weather instead of those warm and hot nights in summertime.
The next morning I woke up to a beautiful and quiet foggy morning,
my very first thought was to take out my camera and start shooting away.
I took a couple walks around the campground and the pier to explore the area,
I had noticed several fishermen were working on their boats, and fishing by the pier early morning,
it was a whole complete scenery and with the foggy weather it felt like I was in a movie.
After some coffee and quick breakfast it was time to say good bye to this amazing campground,
I couldn't have expected to love this campground this much and definitely didn't want to leave,
it is easily one of those unexpected campgrounds that stays with you forever.
This is a great campground I would recommend staying at if you
are ever visiting Grant, Alabama or passing through this state.
Make sure to book a campsite in advanced as this is a popular campground
and many visitors would want to camp with a waterfront view site.
Well guys I really hope you get to visit this campground one day,
in the meantime, you can enjoy my content and photos of Honeycomb Campground.
I'll see you on the next blog post of this series.
Ciao!
